Heeslinger SC is a German association football club from the town of Heeslingen, Lower Saxony. The footballers are part of a larger sports club that had departments for aerobics, athletics, badminton, bowling, gymnastics, Pilates, table tennis, and volleyball.
History
The association was founded on 1 July 2013 as the successor of TuS Heeslingen which was founded in 1906. TuS was the subject of a 2011 tax investigation in Rotenburg for reported irregularities, namely unpaid non-wage labour costs and payments in so-called "black money." Overall, the claims of the tax office and the social insurance institutions amounted to almost one million euros.
TuS was refused a licence for the 2013–14 Oberliga season and folded because a blank certificate was submitted to the tax office, among others. SC entered their first competition, the Landesliga Lüneburg and finished runners-up behind Teutonia Uelzen in 2014. They won the league next year and were promoted to the Niedersachsenliga for the first time.
Le Heeslinger SC a connu un succès modeste au fil des ans, remportant le championnat de Basse-Saxe en 2017 et la Coupe de Basse-Saxe en 2018. Le club a également participé à la DFB-Pokal (Coupe d'Allemagne) à plusieurs reprises, atteignant les quarts de finale en 2018.
L'équipe de Heeslinger SC est connue pour son style de jeu offensif et son esprit d'équipe. Le club dispose d'un solide contingent de joueurs talentueux, dont l'attaquant Janik Sterner et le milieu de terrain Lennart Marie.
L'entraîneur actuel de Heeslinger SC est Michael Popp, qui a pris la tête de l'équipe en 2020. Popp est un ancien joueur professionnel qui a joué pour le VfL Wolfsburg et le Hanovre 96.
Le Heeslinger SC joue ses matchs à domicile au Hänsch-Arena, un stade de 5 000 places situé à Heeslingen. Le club bénéficie d'une solide base de supporters et l'atmosphère du jour du match est souvent électrique.
