Maruyasu Industries FC (マルヤス工業フットボールクラブ, Maruyasu Kogyō Futtobōru Kurabu), playing as FC Maruyasu Okazaki (FCマルヤス岡崎, Efu Shī Maruyasu Okazaki), is a Japanese professional football team based in Okazaki, Aichi Prefecture. They currently play in Japan Football League, Japanese fourth tier of nationwide football league system.
History
The club has been established in 1968 as the corporate team of Maruyasu Industries. In 1976 the team won promotion to Tōkai Soccer League where remained ever since except for 2003 and 2004 seasons when they suffered relegation to Division 2. The club has won the league in 2013 and though they were unable to take up one of three promotion-granting places in the Regional League promotion series, they were admitted to in JFL in 2014 season by the league board.
Before their first season on the nationwide level the club has changed its name to FC Maruyasu Okazaki in order to appeal more to the local community.
Après avoir commencé sa carrière au Shimizu S-Pulse, il rejoint la Bundesliga en 2011 en s'engageant avec le VfB Stuttgart. Il y réalise de très bonnes prestations, inscrivant 36 buts en 125 apparitions. En 2014, il signe en faveur du FC Mayence 05, où il continue à briller, notamment lors de la saison 2015-2016 où il inscrit 12 buts en championnat.
En 2016, il s'engage avec Leicester City, club avec lequel il remporte la Premier League en 2017. Il reste trois saisons chez les Foxes, disputant 100 matchs et inscrivant 15 buts.
En 2019, il rejoint le Málaga CF, puis s'engage avec l'Eibar en 2020.
En équipe nationale, Okazaki est appelé pour la première fois en 2008. Il participe à trois Coupes du monde (2010, 2014 et 2018) et à deux Coupes d'Asie (2011 et 2015). Il compte 119 sélections et 50 buts avec les Blue Samurai, ce qui fait de lui le deuxième meilleur buteur de l'histoire de la sélection derrière Kunishige Kamamoto.
