Wikipedia - Piala Presiden (Malaysia)

The Piala Presiden (English: President Cup) is a developmental football competition in Malaysia for Under-21 players. The cup consists of developmental squad from clubs competing in the top and second division of Malaysian football league system, the Malaysia Super League and the Malaysia Premier League. The cup exists alongside the youth competition for Under-19 players, the Piala Belia.

History

Since its inception in 1985, Piala Presiden has been the major tournament for Under-21 and Under-23 players. The format for the tournament has seen a lot of changes as in 2009 the format of the competition was changed with only Under-20 players eligible to be fielded for the tournament. In 2015, the format of the competition was reverted to the original format with Under-21 players and three overage players eligible to play.

In 2016, the tournament format was also changed with the competing clubs divided into two groups and played a round-robin leg with four top clubs from each group at the end of the season qualifying for the playoff round to determine the champion. The final match for the cup is broadcast by Astro Arena.

La Coupe du Président de la Jeunesse est un tournoi de football masculin des moins de 19 ans organisé par la Fédération de football de Malaisie. Créée en 2007, cette compétition est ouverte aux équipes des écoles, des clubs et des académies de football de toute la Malaisie.

La Coupe du Président de la Jeunesse se déroule chaque année en deux phases : une phase de groupes et une phase à élimination directe. La phase de groupes rassemble 16 équipes réparties en quatre groupes de quatre. Les deux meilleures équipes de chaque groupe se qualifient pour la phase à élimination directe, qui comprend les quarts de finale, les demi-finales et la finale.

La Coupe du Président de la Jeunesse est un tournoi très disputé qui permet aux jeunes joueurs malaisiens de montrer leurs talents et d'acquérir de l'expérience en compétition. De nombreux joueurs qui ont participé à la Coupe du Président de la Jeunesse ont ensuite rejoint les équipes nationales de Malaisie et ont joué dans des clubs professionnels.

La Coupe du Président de la Jeunesse est un événement sportif important en Malaisie et bénéficie d'un large soutien de la part du public et des médias. Le tournoi est également retransmis en direct à la télévision et sur Internet.
